My girlfriend and I have decided to do at least one hike each weekend for the rest of 2015. We started a few weeks ago (I'll have blog posts up for those hikes soon), but this weekend we went up to Heybrook Lookout on the west end of Snoqualmie Pass.
The hike was only a little more than 2.5 miles round trip, but was made up of steep switchbacks right from the beginning.
Lots of cool foliage along the way, and the trail was very well maintained. Once at the top, we were greeted with the huge Heybrook Lookout tower that was once used to spot wildfires back in the old days.
Walking up the tower was super fun, and the view from the top was awesome. The drive over only took about one hour each way from the Seattle area, and the hike up was only about 45 minutes. Heybrook Lookout is a great place to go, if you're looking for a short but somewhat tough hike with great views. Stay tuned for our recent hikes to Heather Lake and Rattlesnake Ledge soon!
